Purpose and Accountabilities
We are looking for a Process Engineer, who will be responsible for support to the NAM Upstream operated gas producing assets in the Netherlands (NL) and United Kingdom (UK). These assets are located onshore in NL and offshore, spanning the Southern NorthSea in the UK and NL. The vacancy exists in the team supporting projects, which is located in the Assen offices in the North of the Netherlands. Flexible working options are available, allowing for part time/remote work (attendance in the NAM or contractors office for a couple of days per week is expected). NAM/Onegas produces ca. 14 BCM of gas and 560 km3 of oil via 8 production systems and is the largest oil & gas operator in The Netherlands. The Assets are mature, which means that most of the projects you will be working on are brownfield. The type of projects range from: compression upgrades and plant debottlenecking to bundled smaller modifications executed as turn-around scope. You will take part in the early phases of projects from initiation to concept selection by providing technical studies and writing a BfD. Thereafter, you will typically stay with the project through to detailed design and start-up. At any time you will be working on a number of projects simultaneously, interacting with different project teams 

Accountabilities:
 Process Safety
- Drive compliance with the essential Process Safety Standards and emissions regulations.
- Ensure design integrity through fit for purpose application of industry standards and guidelines 

Skills & Requirements
- Engineering Degree BSc or MSc, preferably in Chemical Engineering
- Process Engineering knowledge at level, which allows for independent review of discipline deliverables, ensuring safety, operability, and economic design
- Able to independently conduct conceptual process engineering studies to define project scope.
- Demonstrated experience in participation in engineering reviews - such as HAZOP and IPF/SRS. Able to close out actions in collaboration with other disciplines.
- Proficient in process simulation (e.g. Unisim, Pipesim)
- Experience with Flow Assrance (modelling) is an advantage Understanding of the wider engineering process. Previous work experience on upstream (brownfield) projects and operated assets is preferable.
- Proven to substantial years’ experience in the oil & gas industry
- Knowledge of International Engineering guidelines and standards (e.g. API 520 & 521 as well as equipment specific codes) and willingness to get familiar with additional Shell internal standards


 Flexible in terms of work location, willing to travel to production locations and contractor offices on a regular basis.

- You will be part of the Process & Technical Safety Engineering Chapter, that comprises approx. (25) staff positions. In this team, there is great diversity of expertise allowing you to share your knowledge and learn from your peers
- Your day-to-day work environment will be characterized by short lines of communications with project managers and other discipline engineers.
