"Senior Software Engineer (test (automation) specialist)

Making a difference
• You will be part of a self-organizing DevOps team, focused on front and back-end Software Engineering (solution development) and staying in control as a team, delivering workflow solutions for the Treasury department of Rabobank.
• You are a team player and help the teams to improve the DevOps way of working, taking ownership into the teams and sharing your knowledge.
• You will be the intermediary between developers and testers in a team that is already ahead in the field of test automation. To be an added value for the team, you must therefore have deep test automation and development knowledge.
• You are jointly responsible for drawing up and implementing a new testing strategy as part of the cloud migration of our apps. The goal of this strategy is to pursue a shift to the left way of testing and a test automation first approach.
• You can coach and guide developers in the way they should implement their Whitebox tests.
• You act as a sounding board and reviewer of the actual daily development work from a testing point of view. This specifically means that you will be involved in code reviews and determining and optimizing the test coverage at various levels such as unit, unit integration and component tests.
• In addition to the involvement in white box testing, you also do not shy away from the more functional test automation challenges. This implies that you support the testers in the team (who also have a lot of test automation knowledge) with the implementation of automated UI test scenarios. You maintain, among other things, the test automation framework built by the team so that we can automate in an efficient and effective way.

With you
Customer focus, Excellent communication skills, Collaboration and Technologically advanced are essential for the role of Software Engineer with a focus on testing. In addition, it's important that you recognise yourself in the checklist below:

• Minimum of a HBO work and thought level;
• You are an expert in the field of Java Software (V11 or higher);
• You have experience with the Spring (Boot) framework;
• You are familiar with Git, Maven, Azure Devops and SonarQube, or similar developer tools;
• Experience with test automation tooling like Selenium, Rest Assured and Cucumber;
• You have extensive practical experience with the different Whitebox test types and methodologies;
• You have experience in cloud native development (preferably for Azure)
• You have (or want to gain) experience in frontend development in Typescript via Angular;
• Knowledge of using REST API tooling like Postman for external and internal interfaces;
• Good oral and written communication skills in English.
• You have knowledge of or experience with project-based working, preferably in an Agile setting;
• You can bring people together and make them work more efficiently.
