Reports to: Team Lead Client Side Services
Purpose:
The Workspace Engineer is responsible for the endpoint management infrastructure, corporate Windows builds, patch management process and hardware lifecycle management. The Workspace Engineer will liaison with the CDC on vulnerabilities and other security risks in the environment and will prepare and implement changes in the IT landscape to develop and improve the workspace services.
Position in the organization:
The Workspace Engineer is part of the Client Side Services team
Major Areas of Responsibility:
> Work together with the colleagues from the Client Side Services team to solve 2nd line tickets (Incidents/service requests) and perform standard changes (ITIL).
> Mitigating vulnerabilities in the Windows Client Environment. This can be done through Windows Patching, Application Patching, Application updates, and security policy improvements.
> Perform Life Cycle Management in the Client infrastructure landscape
Knowledge, education, skills and experience:
3-5 years of experience in managing Workspace environments.
Knowledge of the client Infrastructure landscape:
- Microsoft Office (365)
- Windows Desktop (Win10/11) (MCP)
- Windows Server 2016 and higher (MCSA)
- Microsoft Endpoint Manager (MECM + Intune)
o System/Application deployment
o Firmware and driver management
o Policies and Compliance
- Microsoft 365 administration
- Microsoft Enterprise Mobility / Azure AD
- Active Directory / Group Policies
- Endpoint Protection
- File/Print services
General knowledge of IT infrastructure (OS, Server, Clients, Network) and troubleshooting Windows Client and Servers Environments.
Experience in creating install and configuration documents, work instructions, and user manuals.
Excellent scripting skills (PowerShell) for day to day administrative (repetitive) tasks and automation.
Dimensions:
- Directly responsible for: Managing the workspace and application landscape
- No Financial responsibility
- Impact and influence: Providing the Viterra Business a stable and secure workspace environment.
- Key relationship / customers: Servicedesk, Application owners, Functional Application Management, Technical Application Management.
