HeadFirst Group is strongly committed to Total Talent Management (TTM) and data analysis, so that they and their clients are ready for the labour market of the future. Manager of Data Ton Sluiter explained how this works during the Total Talent Summit 2025.
HeadFirst Group supports numerous organisations in making their talent strategy future-proof. “While many talk about scarcity in the labour market, we prefer to talk about recruitment feasibility,” says Ton Sluiter, Data Manager at HeadFirst Group. “It is a positive approach focused on how many potentially suitable professionals are available for a task. Where do we find them? How can we ensure they respond?”

What is Total Talent Management?
The core of this approach is Total Talent Management (TTM), Sluiter explains. According to HeadFirst Group, TTM is the future of effective personnel policy. Total Talent Management means gaining control over all employees within your organisation: permanent and flexible. Additionally, you have a clear view of the available talent in the market.
“Think of permanent staff, but also of flexible workers such as freelancers, professionals through suppliers and temporary workers,” says Sluiter. “By looking at the whole picture, you can respond more intelligently and quickly to changes in the labour market. This makes HR policy sustainable and agile.”
Insights from data
With the right insights from data, companies can make informed choices, adjust their strategy and respond smarter to the labour market. HeadFirst Group assists organisations with labour market data through their platform, Striive. “Clients post around 20,000 assignments annually on Striive, and nearly 200,000 professionals respond,” says Sluiter. “This makes our dataset large and representative of the market.”
With all this data, he and his team map out trends. Which skills are in demand? What are the market-conforming rates? How difficult is it to find someone for an assignment?
Analyses and strategic choices
“For instance, we see that the demand for skills in the energy market is different from that in financial services,” Sluiter explains. “With analyses like these, we can look ahead and help companies make strategic decisions.”
To make this data clear and usable, HeadFirst Group has developed a dashboard. On it, clients can see at a glance which skills are popular in which sector, how many professionals respond to an assignment and what the prevailing rates are. Sluiter: “How easy is it to find a candidate for an assignment? Where do you find suitable talent? What rate is appropriate? Thanks to our data, we can answer these questions.”
