A successful MSP service provision starts with a flawless implementation. It’s not just about meeting deadlines, but about creating support, ensuring continuity, and properly informing all parties involved. A well-designed implementation plan ensures the transition to a new MSP goes smoothly, without disrupting daily processes.
In this article, we describe our vision for effective implementation and how we put this into practice.
Implementation: steering towards results
Successful implementation begins with clear objectives. That’s why we focus on three crucial KPIs: timely completion, experienced relief, and buy-in from hiring managers. These goals provide direction and ensure that all parties involved know where the process is headed. To maintain control over these objectives, we conduct weekly progress measurements. Evaluations provide insights into where adjustments need to be made. In this way, any deviations are quickly recognised and addressed, keeping the project consistently on track.

Parallel workstreams for focus and efficiency
To successfully guide such a complex process, we work with parallel workstreams. This ensures that all components are tackled simultaneously, but in an organised manner. Each workstream — from process design to management information — has its own deliverables, timelines, and responsibilities.
This structured approach allows for efficient working while maintaining quality and oversight. A steering group and implementation manager ensure that all these workstreams run synchronously and there is consistent progress.
Communication as a success factor
A structured approach alone is not enough. Communication is an essential link in the implementation process. From kick-offs to roadshows: stakeholders must be informed in a timely and appropriate way. Clear communication creates support, prevents misunderstandings, and accelerates acceptance. Validation sessions ensure that processes are aligned, while active aftercare helps managers to quickly become familiar with the new working method.
An important part of implementation is involving suppliers. By informing them in a timely manner, onboarding them into the new VMS and aligning contractually, continuity is ensured. With self-employed contracts, we pay extra attention to compliance. In case of doubt, we advise on alternatives, and in case of objections, we work together to find tailor-made solutions. In this way, we ensure a solid foundation where quality and regulation go hand in hand.

The foundation for MSP success
The success of an implementation largely depends on the team that executes it. An experienced team with permanent replacements ensures continuity. The implementation manager monitors progress, reports, and makes adjustments where necessary. Subject matter experts assist with specific components such as VMS setup, legal assessment, and compliance.
A good implementation forms the foundation of a successful MSP collaboration. Structure, communication, and involvement not only create a smooth transition but also instill confidence. With this approach, an MSP collaboration not only starts flawlessly but also with impact and with peace of mind.
