Locatie: Arnhem

Are you a (Python) Back-end developer with a strong experience in managing large data? We are looking for a candidate with a keen eye for code quality and a drive to make a meaningful impact on the energy transition and sustainability in the Netherlands. You make the energy grid smarter at Alliander in Arnhem or Amsterdam.

The energy transition needs you as a Python developer
As a Medior/Senior Python Back-end Developer, you will play a pivotal role in the department System Operations, contributing to the development and management of applications and APIs that handle vast amounts of measurement and forecast data. You will work closely with other Python developers in the team and department to ensure the applications are functional and meet our coding standards. These applications play a crucial role in the efficient use and safety of the electricity grid, including the management of EV-car charging stations, wind turbines, and solar power stations. We contribute to the energy transition, for everyone, with everyone. And as Python developer you can take your part in this transition. Your role involves:

-Analysing and optimising database structures and queries to allow high throughput and enable persistence of large amounts of measurement data;
-Collaborating with cross-functional teams to develop REST APIs and Event-Driven interfaces using Kafka, capable of processing large datasets.
-Writing clean and reusable Python code that aligns with our commitment to code quality.
-Ensuring software quality through unit- and integration testing.
-Optimise application performance, maintain software quality- and deployment pipelines and engage in technical discussions to address and meet design requirements.

You complete our network
Alliander consists of a group of companies including Liander, Qirion, Qterra, Dep, Firan and Entrnce. Together, we contribute to the energy transition in the Netherlands. A huge task that involves over 8000 talented professionals working hard every day to make this happen.

Getting the latest tools operational is only possible with the right motivation. We offer you an inspiring working environment. Databrokers Dynamic Data (DDD) Scrum team is a group of seven developers, supported by a dedicated Product Owner and an Architect. Their mission is to ensure that measurement and forecasting data is readily available to other teams within System Operations. The team members are committed to collaboration, code quality, a culture of continuous improvement, equality and autonomy.

You boost our network
Do you want to work with the latest technologies and innovations? With your talent and experience you can contribute to our results and success. We are particularly looking for someone with:

-Minimum of 3 years of experience as a (Python) developer;
-Proficiency in building and utilizing REST APIs in a microservice environment;
-Strong teamwork skills and a problem-solving mindset;
-Proficiency in English (System Operations main language) and/or Dutch.
