Our day-to-day business at Rabobank Online is reinventing the way customers interact with their bank. Around 5 million customers in the Netherlands use Rabobank’s mobile banking services and many more people visit our website. A large number of our private customers uses the Rabobank app to check their financial status on a daily basis. Our channels are a stepping stone towards creating a personalised environment that revolves around the customer on a multitude of devices.

Your technical expertise will be seen as invaluable. We're looking for colleagues who don't hold back and will push for solutions, dare to challenge, are passionate about technology and have experience in both backend and frontend development.

Your role
We are in particular looking for an experienced full stack engineer for a team in our area Consumer Banking. The purpose of the team is giving private customers more insights into their financial situation, with features like history and future timeline and transaction overview.

In this role we not only expect you to show us your best coding skills, but also to have an eye for overall quality including the operations responsibility of the team (all team members are stand by on rotation basis) and work together with the other developers and other key stakeholders (e.g. architects, UX designers, analysts) to stand for the overall quality of the products and services we deliver.

• We are a team of 8 developers, 1 who focusses on business analysis, 1 who takes the lead in UX design, and the rest of us do front-end or back-end development (or both) on the bank’s mobile and desktop applications in the service of our retail customers.
• We often sit together to tackle interesting problems.
• For the backend, we work mainly with Java, Kotlin, Spring and Resilience4J to build and maintain our microservices that run on Cloud Foundry, which we monitor using Micrometer, SignalFx, Splunk and PagerDuty.
• The Rabo app is built and kept up-to-date with the latest Angular version, as a hybrid desktop/mobile application based on Ionic.
• For the frontend, we work in a monorepo environment and make use of our own internal framework, UI components system and fully automated CI/CD pipeline with 24/7 production deployments.
• We use TDD when it makes sense, and we strive not for 100% test coverage but for confidence in our code and on quality for the end-user.
• We work mostly from home and come together for social events.
