Product Owner Analytics

As Product Owner Analytics within the domain of Transaction Monitoring you can have societal impact by building the best analytics models, processing Rabobank transactions of 8+ million customers, to detect Financial Crime. You will lead a multi-disciplinary squad of Data Scientists and Analytics Translators.

You and your job
Imagine yourself in in the middle of a rapidly changing environment and model landscape in the Area of Transaction Monitoring (TM) Detection, Tribe Financial Economic Crime (FEC) Tech. This Area is responsible for protecting the bank and our customers worldwide from the negative effects of financial crime. As a Product Owner, together with your squad, you have a profound impact on the TM area by being responsible for developing and maintaining one of the model components in our TM model ecosystem. In practice this means that you have a big responsibility in ensuring that our models adequately identify (and hence prevent) financial crime activities. The squad is technically driven while operating in a functional surrounding. It consists of extremely capable, enthusiastic, and ambitious professionals and there is a positive, cooperative atmosphere. It is important you feel comfortable in a transparent and open team environment where the social aspect is important.

Practical Examples
As Product Owner Analytics you will:
• Fulfil the role of actively involved fore(wo)man for one or multiple squads, with a mostly internal, technical focus (very limited non-technical stakeholders)
• Constantly switch between the technical details of one of the model components and the overarching (functional) implications on the entire model
• Provide transparent, timely and accurate feedback/updates on planning, progress and dependencies. Work with all stakeholders (which are mainly the other squads working on the same product) to pre-agree the content of the Quarterly Business Review (QBR)
• Coach your squad on the day-to-day business, while having a clear view on future plans in relation to the model’s vision

Top 3 responsibilities
• Develop and maintain one of the model components in our TM model ecosystem (tech stack contains PySpark, DataBricks, Azure DevOps)
• Set priorities for your squad, ensure your squad commits to a realistic quarterly planning, and manage risks in a timely manner
• Together with other POs, Road Manager and Area Lead, outline a vision for the components in the rapidly expanding TM model landscape

Together we achieve more than alone
We believe in the power of difference. Bringing together people's differences is what makes us an even better bank. So we are very curious about what you can bring to our team in the Tribe FEC Tech.

The 80+ people in our Transaction Monitoring team are responsible for detecting money laundering and terrorism financing risks, using analytics models. Working together is the way we work; as 1 multi-disciplinary, highly talented and motivated team at Rabobank. Talking of Rabobank: we are a Dutch bank that operates in 38 countries for over 9,5000,000 customers. Together with these customers, our members and partners we stand side by side to create a world in which everyone has access to enough healthy food. In the Netherlands we work to create a country in which people are happy with how they live, work and do business.

You and your talent
• Academic degree in a technical field (e.g., computer science, mathematics, econometrics or similar)
• 5+ years of experience as Product Owner/Project Manager or similar role in the field of analytics
• Professional experience with bringing Analytics Solutions to production
• Confident in having detailed content discussions with team members
• Strong communication skills; concise and top-down communication is highly appreciated
• Strong ability to manage people from different disciplines and motivate, inspire and coach them
• Ability to quickly understand both technical details and business perspective
• Thrive in a high-impact, dynamic and high-paced environment
• Pro-active, independent and have a can-do mentality to make the difference in fighting financial crime
• Preferred but not required: experience in fighting Financial Economic Crime
