Purpose of Job
A Day Technician will work closely with the Technical Manager and the other members of the CE team for the following purpose; to take ownership for tactical day-to-day direction-setting & resource planning, to support coaching & technical development of the other team members and to share or take ownership for particular tasks or responsibilities as agreed with the Technical Manager.

Responsibilities include:
• Train in the operation and maintenance of all critical facility systems. Areas include Electrical, Mechanical, Building Monitoring, and Control.
• Perform preventative, corrective, and emergency maintenance on medium and low voltage high availability power systems
• Use CMMS to create work orders for tasks carried out on-site, including recording hours & comments on all scheduled PM’s via CMMS ensuring CE compliance is achieved at all times.
• Operate, monitor, maintain, and respond to abnormal conditions in critical facility systems
• Plan, prepare and perform electrical switching and isolations to facilitate break/fix repairs and scheduled equipment maintenance by following approved operational site-specific procedures.
• Assist the CE team in the planning, supervision, and handover of any project-related changes or improvements within the facility
• Ensure all subcontractors are inducted and permitted to work within the CE domain.
• Engage and support the established knowledge-sharing and teamwork culture.
• Ensure that the NOC, Stores & Workshop are clean and tidy at all times
• Provide input into and develop site-specific procedures including EOPs, SOPs, Aps, and Drills.
• Adherence to all quality, health & safety, and environmental policies within the CE domain
• Report health and safety breaches through the ‘HAZARD’ process
• Be fully familiar with site escalation procedures and the Abnormal Incident Reporting (AIR) process
• Ensure that Method Statements and Risk Assessments (Including Dynamic) are used for all tasks undertaken to ensure safe working practices at all times.
• Develop a good working relationship with all members of CBRE staff and the Client representatives.
• Ensure the provision of a Safe and Healthy working environment. To include the wearing of the CBRE uniform at all times and appropriate PPE as required
• Ensure the professional image of CBRE is presented to clients and visitors at all times.
• Undertake other tasks as defined and requested by local management.
• Provide support to the shift team with any of their duties during high-demand periods.

Qualifications, Experience, and Character:
• A fully verifiable electrical trade qualification and verifiable additional training that is relevant to the proposed environment.
• Understanding of LV power distribution and loading. Previous data center (or similar lab) experience - desirable
• A strong understanding and experience of the electrical systems used in a data center environment, including Feeders, Transformers, Generators, Fuel Systems, Switchgear, UPS systems, Battery banks, ATS/STS units, PDU/PMM units, Fire Alarm systems, and Fire Suppression systems.
• Experience with automatic control equipment, including relay logic, programmable logic controllers (PLC’s), building management systems, and their integration with the data center infrastructure is an advantage.
• Experience with low & medium-voltage distribution systems and associated switch gear and protection equipment is preferred.
• Strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate intelligently and effectively with the client and with contractors who perform maintenance or upgrade work on the data center systems.
• Computer literate with the ability to compile and submit weekly, monthly, and annual reports, and to monitor and trend operational characteristics (load, capacity, environmental conditions, etc.). Good working ability on Microsoft Office Products.
• The ability to learn quickly and to gain maximum benefit from extensive training and development programs aimed at ensuring that any identified knowledge or experience deficiencies are addressed in the short term.
• Availability to work out of hours should the need arise to support operational needs as required. Availability to work shift and to provide emergency cover if required.
• Organised, able to effectively prioritize and deliver within a dynamic and high-pressure, business-critical environments
• Self-motivated, with ability to work on own initiative
• Must have a high level of energy, be self- starters, confident and stable in manner

Aptitudes
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Character
Committed to the delivery of excellent customer service.
Calm manner, able to work under pressure. Self-motivated, ability to work on own initiative. Punctual and reliable.

Circumstances
Must be willing to provide holiday and sickness cover at alternate
locations and be flexible in their working patterns to support requirements dictated by the rhythm of the business.
