Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) is a set of processes, data & systems that help us to manage our finances, assets, procurement of goods & services through the supply chain, sales/customers to enable Shell’s ‘Powering Progress’ Strategy.

This solution architect position resides in the Architecture Platform & Data (APD) organization as part of the SAP Architecture team. This role will be the subject matter expert for the ERP design for Finance and Projects and Wells including the formation and adoption of end-to-end ERP processes, developing the target technology strategy, architecture, roadmaps, principles and standards.

This role ‘Solution Architect Finance Projects&Wells’ sits in the SAP Architecture team primarily working with ERP Finance Architect . The individual in this position will work with ERP Natural teams that includes Segment and Solution architects, Business Lead Architects, ITMs (Information Technology (IT) Manager), IT Engineering teams (Product Managers, Design authorities), IDSO, IRM, support and operations teams.

Role responsibilities:
•    ERP Finance, Projects & Wells Architecture – developing reference architectures that includes setting right enterprise level architecture, standards, guidance for segment, solution architects and the ERP transformation programmes; Key objectives are fit for purpose IT (Information Technology) solutions, the right portfolio fit, technical integrity, right TCO (Total Cost of Ownership) (Total Cost of Ownership) (total cost of ownership) through its life cycle and a good fit with the IT technology direction of Shell.
•    Evaluating and positioning of various technology tooling including usage patterns, archetypes
•    Work closely with segment, solution architects, design authorities and product managers to continuously review and update architectural guidance as necessary
•    Acts an advocate for and educates stakeholders on strategic innovation areas such as: SAP Strategy, AI, RPA, eGovernment
•    Proactively develops positive working relationships with key senior stakeholders to identify solutions for requirements to co-create a path to architecture solutions, ensuring business/user perspective is factored into programme scoping and delivery approach
•    Acts as a senior technical advisor to the ERP Portfolio, providing direction and solutions based on wider industry-focus, across the entire SAP and non-SAP ERP landscape to ensure optimal solutions are chosen and implemented
•    Provide architecture assurance activities, working closely with other architecture disciplines, solution delivery and operations teams
•    Support ERP architecture reviews through the Architecture Review Board as required
•    Being the point of call for architecture aspects for ERP projects and enterprise-wide architectural activities
•    Stay in touch with market developments as well as development of standards and standard services in IT at Shell; to ensure Shell ERP landscape is ‘future-proof’ as well as considering the latest service developments
•    Take an active role in documenting, improving & maintaining the Reference Models, lifting project deliverables to the Conceptual and Logical levels in right tools including BiZZdesign
•    Pro-actively contribute to the development of the Architecture community

Skills and Requirements:
•    7 to 10 years in digital and IT with 3+ years of (business-focused) digital and IT management experience. You have a proven record of accomplishment of digital and IT architecture impact and success.
•    Significant solution architect experience in a multi-disciplined IT environment with strong background in application architecture in various ERP areas
•    Excellent influencing skills, acts as our trusted advisor setting the future direction and roadmap and able to demystify complex topics and drive decisions
•    Excellent presentation and communication skills
•    Design Thinking experience in business facing engagements
•    Stakeholder engagement is key to this role
•    Experience of working on and delivering multiple successful ERP transformation / implementation programmes
•    Expert knowledge/expertise on end-to-end processes/solution matching across SAP ecosystem
•    Broad experience on SAP business, functional and technical architectures
•    TOGAF certification and knowledge of BizzDesign preferred
•    Ability to work in virtual teams, across time, geographical, and cultural boundaries
•    Delivery-oriented with a focus on results. Agile and Product focused delivery is a must-have
