In this position you will join the Thales Netherlands IS/IT team. IS/IT is at the core of the Thales digital transformation, there is a close relationship between IS/IT and business.

With a team of 100+ colleagues we provide IS/IT support to our 2500 NL colleagues in several Business Lines and functions. The IS/IT department of Thales Netherlands works closely together with the international IS/IT departments of the Thales group.

The Virtualization Engineer is part of the Hosting squad and works closely with other colleagues within and outside the squad. Your team will be part of the Hosting tribe of the whole Thales group. Together they’re responsible for: Virtualization, Data center Ops, Cloud, Legacy, Storage and Disaster Recovery.

About the job
Your work as a virtualization engineer is varied. Every day you start together with the team to discuss ongoing tasks during the stand-up and how to align them with each other. Both within the department as well as the team we work according to the Agile / Scrum working methods. Throughout the week you focus on the sprint that you work on together with your team. You work on the maintenance and further development of our IT Infrastructure. Preferably you have gained experience in Enterprise environments where security and standardization are also very important. You understand what is expected of an IT engineer regarding virtualization, private cloud services and IT automation. Furthermore you have a strong vision about a secure IT infrastructure which you are able to communicate properly as well.

You are responsible for:
Contributing to ensuring that the vision and strategy for the products within your domain are aligned with that of the company.
Translating the business demand according to the expectations of the stakeholders.

Furthermore you have:
demonstrable working knowledge of VMware infrastructure (VMware VCP-DCV or comparable preferred);
knowledge of VMware vSAN, Vsphere or Vcenter;
knowledge of Enterprise storage solutions is an advantage (specifically Netapp);
working knowledge and experience with Microsoft Windows Server and Linux server OS;
experience in creating high level and low designs is an advantage;
experience in developing a business case to support infrastructure projects.
About you

We are looking for a colleague who:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a technical position;
has at least 5 years relevant working experience especially in an Agile environment;
has experience within a complex enterprise IT environment;
has strong communication skills;
has experience with agile working or is open-minded in adopting new ways of working;
has a strong will to continue to develop him or herself, both on a personal and technical level;
good command of the English language.

Het af te storten % hangt ervan af of u een SNA-certificering (NEN-4400-1 of NEN-4400-2) heeft of niet en of uw bedrijf in Nederland of daarbuiten is gevestigd. De G-rekening kunt u aanvragen bij de Belastingdienst.
Indien u geen G-rekening kunt krijgen (en u kunt hier bewijs van de Belastingdienst van overleggen) dan heeft u ook de mogelijkheid elk kwartaal een accountantsverklaring (assurance report inzake inlening personeel) aan te leveren.
Hierin zal een gecertificeerd accountant (AA of RA) een verklaring afgeven over de juistheid, volledigheid en tijdigheid van de afdrachten. Let wel, de kosten voor deze verklaring komen voor uw eigen rekening.
