Vattenfall Staff function People & Culture is looking for a temporary (maternity leave) replacement to fill the position as


(Sr.) Compensation & Benefits Specialist.


Vattenfall is looking for the right person to fill this temporary role as Compensation & Benefits Specialist. The position reports to the Compensation & Benefits Manager Netherlands and is a member of the C&B team of 3 persons in total for Vattenfall in the Netherlands. The main responsibility for the team is to develop and drive the Compensation & Benefit agenda for Vattenfall. The Compensation & Benefits team consists of C&B Specialists in Sweden, Germany, The United Kingdom and The Netherlands, all in all 14 persons.


Main tasks and responsibilities


The main responsibility for the Compensation & Benefits Specialist is to support the implementation of a new job architecture in The Netherlands. Vattenfall is in the process of introducing a new and aligned job architecture in all the countries where it is present. During the second half of 2025 this implementation will be the main focus of the C&B team in The Netherlands and must be completed at the end of the year. The main task of this C&B Specialist role is to translate the new job architecture and the connected remuneration policy into practical tools and guidelines for managers and employees


You will also contributing to the development of group processes related to Compensation & Benefits, salary setting process, variable pay programs, Job Evaluation etc.. You will work closely with the International C&B team, HR managers, HRBP’s and the Shared Service organization ensuring smooth and efficient work processes and well established and accepted “ways of working”.


Key deliverables and activities:


•    Support in the implementation of the new job architecture in the Netherlands.


•    Training of and close and good cooperation with HR manager and HR BP’s.


•    Training and cooperation with (senior) management


•    Contribute to the development within the area of C&B group wide.


•    Keeping up to date with current regulations and monitoring changes in the C&B area in Netherlands.


•    Co-operate with HR Managers and other internal stakeholder to understand the business demands and need within the compensation & benefit area.


•    Ensure that the C&B function in Netherlands are equipped to provide expertise advice regarding compensation and benefits to internal stakeholders.

Your profile


Our best candidate has a relevant academic degree in HR or Law and documented experience in Compensation & Benefits and 5-7 years of experience within related topic.


•    Knowledge of and experience working with both Korn Ferry / Hay and Mercer


•    Great communication skills, able to rapidly establish credibility for own person


•    Hands on mentality


•    Collaborative believes sharing is win-win and is empowering others


•    Able to see through complexity but also able to simplify to get buy-in from others


•    Has great judgement and is pragmatic, understanding which issues should be addressed and when


•    Able to work in a matrix organization in an international setting, balancing different stakeholder needs and deal with political complexity


•    Is passionate about the overall environmental impact vision of Vattenfall


•    Is genuinely interested in the business and how the own function can contribute to the success of the company


•    Has a strong match with the Vattenfall experience principles (Open, Active, Positive & Safety), being able to role model these in the organization


•    Command of Dutch and English is strong, both verbally and written
