The assignment

You will be a member of the IT Infrastructure & Networking team that is part of the IT Operations EMEA. The team is responsible for the IT infrastructure and networks within Rotterdam campus and regional datacenters, support and guidance provisioning for remote offices.
On a position of the Project Network Engineer, you are going to work on improvements of Viterra corporate networks. To fulfil this role you will design, implement and improve related services. This includes assessing technologies in use, preparing changes in the technical infrastructure, deploying new components and solving second and third-line disruptions and incidents. The Project Network Engineer will liaison with the Cyber Defense Center on vulnerabilities and other security risks in the environment where relevant.

The responsibilities
•    Designing regional and global Network, Firewall and Load Balance solutions;
•    Developing and maintaining networking and security standards and documentation;
•    With your expertise you can support with troubleshooting, deploying and resolving LAN, WAN, VoIP, Wi-Fi, VPN, security and datacenter related issues;
•    Implementing processes, policies, best practices and tools to provide stable, predictable and high-performance networks;
•    Work with executive team members, decision makers and stakeholders to define business requirements and system goals, and to identify and resolve business systems issues;
•    Work with the Information security team to continuously improve the network security and act on security incidents when necessary;
•    Ensure compliance with Viterra’s policies and procedures;
•    Willing to work outside normal office hours and weekends, if required.

The requirements
•    Bachelor/Master or equivalent in Information Technology or other relevant field;
•    Minimum of 5 or more years of experience in a similar position;
•    Experience in firewall and network management in large and complex environments (design and operations);
•    Proven significant Fortinet Firewall experience at a level of NSE4 and NSE5;
•    Distribution and access technologies based on Fortinet and Cisco Catalyst family;
•    Cisco CCNA Routing and Switching;
•    Knowledge of and the experience with the network management tools;
•    Good in English (spoken and written);

•    The following skills, experience and certifications are highly desirable and would be a bonus:
•    Fortinet NSE4 and NSE5 certifications;
•    Certified Cisco CCNP;
•    Experience working with F5 products, including Load Balancers and SSO;
•    Experience with Ansible, Python or other network automation tooling;
•    Experience in Cisco Voice Solutions (Cisco UC and Webex).
