The Planning Engineer supports Business Opportunity/Project/Construction Management by creating and updating (level-1) schedules for a portfolio of 50-70 projects, reflecting all phases of the project. This to provide adequate schedule forecast information.

Main Job Tasks:
1. Set up new projects in Primavera based on Project Initiation Notes (PIN)
2. Define initial project schedule, including base line, in close consultation with Project Manager ( PM) and Business Opportunity Manager (BOM)
3. Apply schedule logic based on Shell Project Quality Standards
4. Review detailed schedules (Level 3-4) prepared by Engineering Contractor (EC) and Construction Scheduling Contractor. Escalate scheduling errors/issues to the corresponding EC & Construction Scheduling Contractor
5. Identify schedule risks and have these communicated to PM/BOM to enable for timely action
6. Provide project progress reports on a monthly basis Deliver schedule input for monthly Business Opportunity Team (BOT) meetings
7. Facilitate and participate in Integrated Planning Sessions
8. Provide adequate schedule information as input for Shell Decision Gates [Project Acceptance Reviews (PAR-2/3/4), Final Investment Decisions(FID)]
9. Support standardization efforts by creating/updating Standard Operating Procedures and internal guidelines, according to Shell standards.
10. Support continuous improvement efforts within the team
11. Helps maintain quality control of schedules

Skills/Competences:
1. 5+ years of refinery or petrochemical plant turnaround and/or capital project scheduling experience.
2. 5+ years’ experience and advanced skill level in scheduling using Primavera P6.
3. Strong communication and influencing skills.
4. Must have the capability to work with a lot of stakeholders.
5. Dutch and English Speaking (verbal and written) is a must.
6. Solid understanding of project standards and guidelines.
7. Bachelor degree in engineering or similar based on work experience.
8. SAP knowledge is a plus.

Dimensions:
1. Reports to the Integrated Scheduling Team Lead & indirectly to the Portfolio Master Scheduler
2. Member of Project Portfolio Scheduling team (sub team of Integrated Scheduling)
3. Provides scheduling support for a portfolio of 50-70 projects in different phases (>$ 50M annual spend)
4. Works closely with PM's, BOM's, Construction Management and Engineering Contractors
